Beaker, the new ambassador for the Burrowing Owl Conservation Society of B.C. is thriving at 1 month.

Mike Macintosh rescued this newborn shortly after the death of Merlin, who helped promote the cause of the Burrowing Owl for many years.

Mike Mackintosh reported that this family was actually 9 (one not shown). Photo taken while they tagged the birds still at the flightless stage during July. As many as 35 newborns were identified at the Guichon Ranch area alone. Parents of these birds were returning owls from earlier releases. Fundraising at the winery has helped make this valuable recovery program possible. Thanks to all who have participated.
